Fees
Our success in attracting new clients and maintaining long term relationships comes from recognizing that each client has specific needs and economic realities which can change over time. Applying this recognition to our practice, we offer competitive pricing that can be tailored on a case by case basis. In addition, we utilize different types of fee arrangements, the most common of which are the following:
- Flat Fee. For certain services where the cost and time necessary to complete a project are predictable, a flat fee may be preferable. As with all fee arrangements, a flat fee is agreed upon at the outset. Depending on the project and the amount of the flat fee, some or all of the fee may be due prior to the commencement of work.
- Hourly Fee. Under this traditional fee arrangement, the lawyer bills on an hourly basis with a minimum billing increment for any work performed. Many litigation matters are billed on an hourly basis. Costs incurred during the course of performing work are billed in addition to the hourly rate. Hourly rates will be discussed and agreed upon at the outset.
- Contingency Fee. In some instances, payment for
services rendered will be contingent upon the amount of money recovered. Under this fee arrangement, the fee is paid out of the money recovered and normally collected after services have been concluded. Costs incurred during the course of performing work are to be paid by the client before, during or at the conclusion of services unless a different arrangement is agreed to. Determining whether a potential matter is appropriate for the contingency fee arrangement will be discussed and agreed upon at the outset.
- Hybrid Fee. Because the needs and economic realities of a client may be particularly unique, a fee arrangement combining elements of the flat, hourly or contingency fee may be utilized. If we believe a hybrid fee arrangement is possible, it will be discussed and agreed upon prior to implementation.
